About Life Coaching:
Life Coaching is a collaborative process where a professionally trained Life Coach helps individuals identify and achieve their personal and professional goals through self-discovery, goal setting, and actionable strategies.
Did you know? Life Coaching is not therapy. While therapy often delves into the past to heal mental health issues, coaching primarily focuses on the present and future, driving action and empowering clients to find their solutions and make sustainable changes.
There are many benefits to coaching:
- It develops self-awareness and self-discovery
- Enhances mental health
- It improves overall well-being
- Strengthens relationships & communication
- It fosters collaboration and teamwork

About Nalan:
Hi, I’m Nalan. I am a professional Life Coach and course facilitator with nearly a decade of experience. I specialise in Transformational Coaching, Wellbeing and Mindfulness.
I help individuals cultivate awareness, enhance their well-being, uncover their true paths, and turn their goals and passions into tangible outcomes.
I began my professional Life Coaching journey by training as Transformational Coach back in 2016, at Coach Masters Academy in Auckland. This earned me International Coach Federation, ICF Associate Coach accreditation, and I was a professional member of ICF from 2017 to 2025.
To further enrich my understanding, I have pursued various other courses. This has enhanced my ability to assist myself and others, and I remain committed to continued learning.
I’m captivated by how Life Coaching can empower people to lead more fulfilling lives, which fuels my passion for this work.
I have a decade of experience in mindfulness, life coaching, and wellbeing coaching. In my sessions, I integrate mindfulness practices to enhance awareness and calm the mind, alongside wellbeing strategies that address all areas of life. Transformational coaching inspires clients to take action towards positive change, helping them achieve their goals and desires within a supported space.
Before becoming a Life Coach, I was an expert in various other fields over the years – professional cooking, restaurant & café management, and sound engineering. While these experiences may seem quite diverse, they have all shaped who I am today.
Outside of coaching, I like to channel my creativity into different things like producing a world-music podcast called SonicRoots (listen to it on Spotify) and writing articles, poetry, and stories. Additionally, I host plant-based & Mediterranean cooking workshops, participate in Open Floor dancing, tend to our family’s veggie garden, and delve into baking and food preservation. And of course, I tackle the usual day-to-day tasks and challenges—no avoiding that!
By the way, I’m a Turkish New Zealander and I came to this country over 30 years ago! My name is pronounced “Nala” like the character from The Lion King, plus an extra “n” at the end. My name is a palindrome, which means it reads the same forwards and backwards – how cool is that! It loosely means the sound of reeds along rivers blowing in the wind.
